Ingatestone Choral Society

ANGLO 05 v2

Ingatestone Choral Society is a friendly mixed voice choir of about 45 singers. In addition to performing locally, we regularly join with other choral societies to perform larger choral works, often in Brentwood Cathedral. Recent works have included Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius, Verdi’s Requiem and Goodall’s Eternal Light. We always welcome new singers to our rehearsals which are every Wednesday evening, 8pm till 10pm, in the United Reformed Church Hall (High Street, Ingatestone, CM4 9EY). The ability to read music is an advantage but not essential and music is provided. Come along to any Wednesday rehearsal and give it a try!  This year sees the end of an era with the retirement of our conductor, Bruce Pennick, who has been with the choir since 1964.   As part of his penultimate concert, we shall be performing A Requiem of Peace by Andrew Wright, Master of Music at Brentwood Cathedral, with the solos being sung by local soprano, Julia Wilson-James.  Bruce’s last concert as conductor will be our annual “Carols & Cheer” concert in Ingatestone Parish Church.
Concert details are:  Remembrance Sunday at 6pm on 12th November in St John the Evangelist & St Erconwald Catholic Church, Roman Road, Ingatestone CM4 9AA. Admission free with a retiring collection for the British Legion. ‘Carols and Good Cheer’ in the Parish Church of St Edmund & St Mary, Ingatestone High Street at 7.30pm on Saturday, 23rd December 2017. Tickets £8 to include refreshments. www.ingatestonechoral.org  Email: alderton561@btinternet.com or call Alison Archibald: 07767 380874
